SHOWING NEIGHBOURLY LOVE

We are the salt of the earth and the light of the world.

Just a few days ago, freezing rain left the Montreal roads and sidewalks covered in a thick sheet of ice. Slipping and sliding into school, it seemed fitting that the morning devotion at Greaves Adventist Academy reflected upon our role as the “salt” of the earth and the light of the world (based on Matthew 5:13 - 16).

Salt.

Well, in true GAA style, that was all our teachers needed to hear before their creative wheels started spinning, springing them into action. Using their planning period to buy salt and prepare cards, groups of teachers and students put on their Winter gear and headed out to salt the stairs and driveways of the homes neighboring our school.

Residents peaked out in appreciation and thanks and students were happy to give them their cards reading:
